Dominant shrubs and grasses are Artemisia herba-alba and Poa bulbosa, with pockets of Ferula communis and Zizyphus lotus. Stonier soils support Haloxylon scoparia. Areas near water support Tamarix spp., Populus euphratica, and Phragmites spp.
