Description

Closed beech and fir-beech forests with Abies alba and Acer pseudoplatanus, with a poorly distinctive shrub layer and a species-rich, often contiguous herb layer that contains many demanding species, a number of geophytes, as well as montane tall-forbs.

Trees: Beech dominates, with occasional Silver Fir, Field Maple, Common Ash

Overall fairly dense

Shrubs: Rowan (incl. Fruiting), Whitebeam, Fruiting Blackthorn Bush

Very sparse

Undergrowth: patches of sweet_woodruff, bottle_sedge, greater_wood_rush, wild_parsley, green_meadow_fescue, lush_grass; small clumps of wood_horsetail, marsh_ragwort; isolated horse_chestnut_tree_sapling, melancholy_thistle, dandelion; rare: woodland_sedge, willow_tree_sapling, blackberry_bush
